Amber
Amber opened its centre at Ashley Court in 2002 and exists to help young people in crisis to transform their lives. Young people who are disadvantaged and long term unemployed who want to regain their self-esteem, confidence and motivation and get themselves into a position where they become employable and go to college or get a job and start to make a valuable contribution to the community.As an organisation, Amber has also been active in the local community and is delighted that its connections with the local community continue to be productive and positive. Residents from Ashley Court have benefited greatly from these links; and vice-a-versa. Amber volunteers continue to work with the Kids at the youth club. It also engages with the elderly by helping serve 'hot lunches' at the community centre and it has recently painted stage sets for the Chawleigh Amateur Dramatic Society's pantomime. The latest project in hand is... to construct a life-size Totem Pole for a big local event!
Community Car Service
Chawleigh Community Car Service was set up 5 years ago to provide transport to Wallingbrook Health Centre and the Dental Surgery in Chulmleigh. We have a group of drivers, who kindly volunteer whatever time they are able, and two coordinators (morning & afternoon) to deal with requests from clients. We currently have 12 volunteer drivers and 20 clients on our books. We warmly welcome new drivers, whatever basis they can offer, whether regular or only occasional. Expenses are paid. In all the time we have been operating, we have only been unable to help on three occasions, one being very short notice - 15 mins!For further information please ring 01769 581234

Jubilee hall booking charges as of 13th June 2005.
All Rooms (Private Party): Evening until 12pm = £30; Daytime until 6pm = £30;
Both - all day and evening = £50;
Annexe only - am or pm = £8;
Morning 8am to 1pm = £18; Afternoon 1pm to 6pm = £18;
Children's birthday party - 3 hours (Hall only) = £12;
Commercial - all rooms = £45.

Twinning Association
We are looking forward to seeing our French friends from St Martin de Mailloc when they visit over the weekend of the 28th April to the 1st May.
